This week’s Welcome to Sanford Business of the Week is Yarborough’s Homemade Ice Cream located on McIver St. in downtown Sanford.
Yarborough’s has served frozen treats and fresh-made food to the people of Sanford for over 50 years. Carol Yarborough, Sanford native and founder of Yarborough’s Homemade Ice Cream, is the son of Philip “Phil” Chaffin Yarborough who founded Fairview Dairy back in 1927. After selling Fairview Dairy in 1946, Yarborough decided to open his own store in Downtown Sanford.
Yarborough’s offers over 30 flavors of ice cream made in-house, as well as hot dogs, burgers, soups, and more.
Yarborough’s is open from 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM Monday through Saturday, and 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Sundays. You can dine in at their location on 132 McIver St. or call 919-776-6266 to place an order ahead for pickup.
