It’s finally here! If you haven’t heard yet, this Saturday is the third annual Streestfest in Downtown Sanford. This daylong celebration starts at noon and ends at dark with a fireworks show. The schedule of events include live music, games, food and beverage trucks, art, and fun kid’s zone.
If you love live music, this is the event for you. The lineup for the main stage includes Nakia Latrelle, Big Bump & The Stun Gunz, Cory Luetjen & The Traveling Blues Band, and the headliner, YO MAMA’S BIG FAT BOOTY BAND. The music will start at 1pm. In addition to the main stage, there will be a second stage of performers and street shows. A full list can be found here.
In addition to the live music, there will be tons of activities taking place throughout the day for all ages. The activities kick off at 8am with The Salvation Army hosting their annual Kettle Krush 5k and Fun Run. This event raises money to bring awareness to “krush” poverty and provide resources to help people in need. The Fun Run is targeted at the younger crowd, ages 5-12. For more information on how to register click here. If running isn’t your thing, there will also be a cornhole tournament taking place.
After the run, downtown stores will open for business at 10am and the Carolina Animal Rescue & Adoption will be on Wicker Street at 11am. Activities throughout the day include food trucks, vendors, a fun zone, cornhole tournament, car show, and imagine circus performers. For a full list of food and brews available click here.
The City of Sanford, Downtown Sanford, Inc., the Sanford Area Growth Alliance, title sponsor Central Carolina Hospital, the Visit Sanford Tourism Development Authority, and local businesses and nonprofits invite everyone to come out to this fun community event. The StreetFest will take place on the block of Downtown Sanford ringed by Steele, Carthage, Moore, and Wicker streets.
