The Sanford and Lee County health and wellness community added a sparkling new destination and more fitness options, with the grand opening of the brand location of Sanford’s Ingram Family YMCA. The Y is now located at the old Sanford Nautlius & Racquetball Club facility at 1907 K.M. Wicker Memorial Drive in Sanford. The Y informally opened for business for members on June 5 and celebrated with a formal Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting on June 19.
Members and guests will have plenty of activities to make use of. The swimming pool will debut a new plaster floor, greater ease of access for handicapped participants and new in-pool lane lines for serious swimmers. The redesigned pool area will also accommodate a sauna and patio.
The Y’s new wellness floor can be described as “new, more and better.” The new facility has a greater selection of workout gear, including bikes, treadmills and ellipticals. Group workout rooms accommodate a full schedule of classes in areas such as cardio, pilates, yoga and cycling. Nursery services are available and the Y now also has racquetball – a program addition made possible by the existing courts in the building.
There is plenty to take in and experience at the new Ingram Family YMCA. Find out more and arrange a tour, by visiting the YMCA website, or by calling 919-777-9622.
