Sanford Earns National Ranking For Business Start-Ups

“We’re #15!”  (and that’s REALLY good!)

Online personal credit resource provider WalletHub recently released it’s ranking of top small cities to start a business in and Sanford came in 15th nationwide out of 1,261 communities. The study used 18 specific criteria to evaluate each metropolitan area and Sanford’s strongest attribute was its cost of doing business.  Sanford had the fifth best business cost environment in the entire country, according to the study.

Other variables that came into play in the evaluation of communities with populations between 25,000 and 100,000 included workforce availability and education, access to financing and average cost of labor and office space.

Wilson (4th) and Salisbury (14th) were the only Tar Heel communities that rated higher overall than Sanford. Notably, research triangle communities with upscale reputations including Apex, Chapel Hill, Wake Forest and Holly Springs all finished well outside the top 100. 31 North Carolina locations ranked among the top 500 in the study.
