Salvation Army of Lee County

In the spirit of the season, this week for the Welcome to Sanford Business of the Week, we’re taking a look at an important organization which support those in need all year long. This week we honor the Salvation Army of Lee County. With offices based in the Mann Center of North Carolina on North Steele Street, this organization is fully engaged in the community throughout the year, by providing assistance and support to families and children in need.

Among 3 prominent examples of the Salvation Army’s dedication are this time of year’s Be A Shield Bell Ringer campaign, the Angel Tree program which provides gifts to children during the holiday season, and the organization’s Salvation Army Thrift Store, located at 305 Steele Street.

For several decades in communities across the country, Salvation Army volunteers have been “ringing the bell” in public settings. The funds they generate help to support the Salvation Army’s many programs throughout the year.  Here in Lee County in the past few weeks, Pilgrim’s Pride, BelFlex, Lee Co Firefighters, NutriShop, Southern Lee High’s Interact Club, Lee County High’s Key Club, Zion Christian Church, Lee Christian School Athletics, and PentAir are among many companies, organizations, families, non-profits, schools, churches and individuals who have participated in the program.
