Robert Davis – East Lee Middle School

Our latest Welcome To Sanford Teacher of the Week is Robert Davis of East Lee Middle School.  Mr. Davis has been an educator for roughly a quarter-century and serves as an 8th Grade English Language Arts teacher. He was also recognized as East Lee’s 2016-17 Teacher of the Year.

Mr. Davis began his college career at Central Carolina Community College and earned degrees in Middle Grades Education and English at UNC-Greensboro. The highlight of Mr. Davis’ busy school day centers on improving the reading skills of his students. In his free time, Mr. Davis enjoys spending time with his family and his church.

Students and peers use a wide range of words to describe Mr. Davis, such as “amazing,” “nice” and “funny.” His kids appreciate Mr. Davis’ ability to make learning fun, while also teaching meaningful life lessons. His students learn how to reason, think on their own and make good moral decisions, as part of their classroom experience.
