Michele Bursey works in preschool and learning centers at Warren Williams Elementary Alternative School, where was honored as the 2016-17 Teacher Of The Year. In the eyes of her colleagues, Ms. Bursey evokes the words of George Washington Carver, who said “Education is the key to unlocking the doors to freedom.”
Ms. Bursey is recognized at the school for the strong educational foundation she provides for her students. She strives for creating positive lifelong learning experiences that can inspire enthusiasm and a sense of ownership for her children.
Ms. Bursey holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from East Carolina University, is national board certified and is pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. She comments, “I love to teach young children and watch them grow. I believe all children are unique and can reach their fullest potential. I hope to create an environment where children feel secure, free to laugh, explore and learn through play.”
