Jayme Edwards has completed 7 years of teaching at J. Glenn Edwards Elementary School, where she serves as a first grade teacher and was honored as the school’s Teacher of the Year for the 2016-17 academic year. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Wingate University and a Master’s in Literacy from UNC-Chapel Hill.
Ms. Edwards has a very straightforward teaching philosophy for her students. She says, “My goal is to make a difference in the life of every child that walks into my room. I give my all when teaching your children. Teaching is truly my passion in life!! I hope that all students enter as learners and leave as LEADERS!!”
Ms. Edwards earns her own high marks for her positive attitude and enthusiasm. Her peers and parents say it’s absolutely contagious. She was inspired by her mother, a dedicated, loving teacher in her own right, as well as her kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Janet Walters. Both ladies instilled a love and passion for children and learning in Ms. Edwards, that is fully reflected in the dedication and enthusiasm she shares with her students.
