It’s been a cold, wet week in Sanford, and it looks like the miserable weather will be continuing until Sunday at least. Despite the weather, there’s still tons to do in Sanford indoors and away from the cold!
This weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday the students of Lee County will be performing “Willy Wonka Jr.” at Lee County High School. Based on the classic 1971 film adaptation of Roald Dahl’s 1964 book, the musical production will feature familiar songs such as “The Candy Man” and “Pure Imagination.” The show stars Elementary, Middle and High School students from across Lee County and costs $10 for adults and $5 for students. There will be shows today (Friday, November 15th) and Saturday at 7:00pm with an early show on Sunday at 2:30pm.
Tomorrow, Saturday, November 16th there will be Bazaars at two different churches, where you can purchase food, crafts, jewelry and more.
The St. Thomas Red Door Bazaar at St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church will be open from 9:00am – 12:30pm. You can enter drawings, participate in a silent auction, purchase baked goods for your family, Christmas gifts for your loved ones and more!
The JUMC Annual Fall Bazaar at Jonesboro United Methodist Church will be held from 8:00am – 1:00pm and will feature baked goods, foods to go, crafts and more. This year there will also be an “Accessory Boutique” with items such as purses, hats and trinkets such as figurines and boxes. Some of these will be vintage items which make for very unique gifts!
Support the next generation of performers at Willy Wonka Jr., purchase some early Christmas gifts and brings some baked goods home to enjoy a warm, relaxing weekend at home!
