Halloween is upon us and since it falls on a Thursday this year, this weekend is when all of the events are happening! There are ton of events for people of all ages happening across Sanford, so let’s get started!
TOMORROW October 26th is the 18th Annual NO SCARE FAIR hosted by Haven In Lee County. This annual event is aimed at kids from ages 2-10, but of course people of all ages are welcome. There will be crafts, candy, games and more, plus you get to support a great cause! The NO SCARE FAIR will be held at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center, 1801 Nash St. with sessions 9:00 am, 10:30 am, 12:00 pm, 1:30 pm, 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm. Purchase your tickets for $6 per person at the Piggly Wiggly on Horner Blvd. The 10:30 am session is already sold out, so make sure you pick up your tickets as soon as you can!
While you’re there, make sure to check out information on the MINA Charter School of Lee County. The school, opening next August, is Lee County’s first charter school for children grades K-5. It will be bilingual with a focus on diversity and fostering a global mindset. Registration is open now, so sign you kids up today!
Also tomorrow, October 26th is the Lee County Libraries Spooktacular Halloween Bash! The free event will be held at Sanford Branch from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm so bring your kids, your costumes and pick up a spooky new book to read while you’re at it!
Yet another event tomorrow is the Downtown Sanford Trick or Treat — a bunch of downtown Sanford businesses will have orange signs in their windows, stop by, grab some candy and support a local business! This event will be running from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm with a costume contest happening at noon in Charlie Watson Lane.
If you prefer to explore the city by night the Downtown Jack-o-Lantern Trail hosted by Downtown Sanford Inc. is for you! This event begins at nightfall each evening from tomorrow October 26th through Halloween. Each participating business will have a special Jack-o-Lantern design outside their door, make sure to see them all!
