Holiday Storytime In Sanford

December arrives tomorrow which means the holiday season is in full swing! As our previous two articles have mentioned, the Christmas parade is taking place this weekend December 3rd in downtown at 7pm. The Christmas Tree and Train Lighting is taking place December 7th at 7pm at Depot Park. You will not want to miss these two events to kick start the season and put you in the Christmas spirit.

On Saturday, December 8th you and your family can experience “A Christmas Carol” as you never have before. Peter Battis becomes Charles Dickens as Dickens tells his classic Christmas tale. This solo performance will take place 2pm-4pm at The Temple Theatre Company. Come experience this beloved story as professional actor Peter Battis embodies Charles Dickens and his beloved characters for a wonderful performance. For a full list of show times or to buy tickets visit or call the Temple Box Office at 919-774-4155.

To keep the Christmas storytelling going, The Polar Express will be read at  Karma Boutique & Coffee Bar! Bring your kids in their pjs and enjoy story time and hot cocoa with one of the Lee County Libraries, Sanford NC‘s librarians. When the storytime is over, you can pick up a  Downtown Sanford, Inc.  passport and go on a train scavenger hunt. Use the clues to find the 12 trains hidden downtown. When you are complete you can turn in your passport for a prize! This event is free and the only cost would be the cost of your beverages.
