This Monday’s Welcome to Sanford Business of the Week is High Cotton Couture, a brand new downtown Sanford business which opened its doors on August 7th.
High Cotton Couture sells clothing and accessories in a broad range of styles, from conservative to flirty, bell bottoms to skinny jeans. The mission of High Cotton Couture is to make all customers feel welcome, and to have an item for every type of customer.
Owners Maggie and Luke Cranford have lived in the Sanford area their whole lives. Maggie has always loved fashion and style, and for years her husband told her that she should open a boutique.
With the help of the Sanford Area Growth Alliance Chamber of Commerce, Central Carolina Community College Small Business Center, and Downtown Sanford, Inc, they were finally able to make her dream a reality! As part of the first class of the RISE Program, Maggie and Luke learned the steps they needed to take to plan and run a successful business.
Maggie’s goal with the boutique is to help women build their sense of confidence through their style.
Every Monday, High Cotton Couture offers a 10 percent discount for nurses, doctors, teachers, military and first responders.
In the future, Maggie and Luke hope to give back to the community which has supported them in the opening of their business. Despite the pandemic, they have been very pleased with how their first weeks of business have gone.

High Cotton Couture is located at 115 S Steele St. and is open Monday – Friday from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
