Health and wellness are community-wide priorities in Sanford and Lee County.

A Duke Lifepoint Hospital, Central Carolina Hospital (CCH) is the focal point for comprehensive health care in Sanford and Lee County.  CCH has earned state and national recognition for its services in a variety of areas, including its treatment of surgically-related infections, heart care, pneumonia treatment, surgical care and joint care.

FirstHealth of the Carolinas is another regional health care leader in south central North Carolina.  It’s network employs over 4,000 people in a 15 county area, that includes 4 local hospitals, several medical practices and in Sanford, the FirstHealth Convenient Care center.

Lee County residents are served by over 50 health care provider practices, covering the full range of modalities. The area is also home to over 2 dozen dental practices, approximately a dozen chiropractic offices and other specialists. Local residents also have plenty of places and opportunities to maintain optimal health, with several fitness centers, workout facilities, gymnastics programs, outdoor activities and sports and recreational leagues to choose from.
