Elizabeth Solorzano – Deep River Elementary

Our latest Welcome To Sanford Teacher of the Week is Elizabeth Solorzano of Deep River Elementary School.  Mrs. Solorzano teaches first grade at Deep River and has just wrapped up her sixth year of teaching.  A native of Massachusetts, Mrs. Solorzano’s family background is Puerto Rican and she speaks both English and Spanish fluently.  She holds a degree in Human Development Family Studies/Early Childhood Education from UNC – Greensboro.

It’s fair to consider Mrs. Solorzano an enthusiastic educator.  She comments, “I look forward to being each child’s teacher and I love, love when my students are eager to learn!”  Like many of her colleagues, Mrs. Solorzano was tasked with coming up with an effective “Plan B” when schools were closed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.  Mrs. Solorzano was soon teaching and earning rave reviews from her work teaching her students by using Google Meet three days each week.

In her spare time, Mrs. Solorzano enjoys spending time with her family, as well as traveling, watching movies, exercising and staying active in church activities.
