Our newest Welcome To Sanford Teacher of the Week is Elizabeth Barlow, a fifth grade teacher with a focus on math, reading and science at B.T. Bullock Elementary School. A native of Pittsboro, Mrs. Barlow is a 2011 East Carolina University graduate. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
As her students begin another school year, Mrs. Barlow is equally excited to share in their journey through the fifth grade. She looking forward to making the best possible use of technology during the school’s virtual outset and comments, “I know this year will be a lot different than normal, but I am here to help every child be successful in any way I can.”
Mrs. Barlow has high expectations for each of her students and believes that those who approach each day ready to achieve their academic and behavioral goals are likely to succeed. She encourages her students to always ask for help if they do not understand something and to do their work neatly and to the best of their abilities. Mrs. Barlow notes, “I expect every student in my class to always try their best and give their work 100 percent effort. I want them to have a positive attitude and growth mindset, and to be respectful, safe and responsible in all things.”
