The Christmas fun continues here in Sanford with some exciting events happening in the next week!
This Saturday, December 14th at 2:00pm, the 2019 Broadway Christmas Parade will be marching down Main Street. Come downtown to see floats from local organizations, marching bands, and of course, a special appearance by Santa Claus himself! If you missed last Monday’s parade, or if you just can’t get enough Christmas cheer, make sure to show up!
This Monday, December 16th from 2:00pm to 9:30pm, the Lion’s Club Fairgrounds will be turning into a Winter Wonderland! Snow my yard, the same company that created the sledding slide at last week’s Depot Park Train and Tree Lighting, will fill part of the Lion’s Club Fairground with snow for the evening. The free event will feature food trucks, vendors, Santa Claus, sledding and more! The organizers ask that you bring non-perishables food items to donate to Christian United Outreach Center of Lee County.
Finally, don’t forget about the 3AA Highschool Football Championship game between the Lee County Yellow Jackets and the Weddington Warriors! The game will be at 7:00pm at the Carter Finley Stadium in Raleigh. If you have access to the broadcast channel WLFL-TV Channel 22.1 (CW) you can tune into the live broadcast at 7:00pm to view the game from your home.
Let’s go Yellow Jackets!
