Chambers Williams Named New Herald Editor

The Sanford Herald has named veteran journalist G. Chambers Williams III as its new editor. Williams succeeds Shawn Stinson and joins Sanford’s daily newspaper from the Henderson Daily Dispatch, where he served as Managing Editor.

Williams brings extensive and diverse experience to his new position. He’s previously served as Business Editor for the Jacksonville Florida Times-Union and Knoxville News-Sentinel. Williams worked in various editing and writing capacities in large markets such as Orange County California, Phoenix, Charlotte and Nashville.  He writes a popular weekly syndicated new car review automotive column and owned and operated radio stations in Tennessee and North Carolina’s Outer Banks.

According to Herald Publisher Rachael Raney, “It’s an honor to have someone with Chambers Williams’ background and success in journalism leading our news staff here at the Herald. The Sanford Herald celebrates having someone of his caliber.”
