Central Carolina Hospital Adds Interventional Cardiologist

Sanford’s Central Carolina Hospital has announced the addition of interventional cardiologist Rajiv S. Swamy, MD, FACC to its staff, effective December 5, 2018. He joins the hospital and organization from Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, where he has served for the past 5 years.

Dr. Swamy is recognized as a positive addition to the hospital’s cardiology practice.  According to Central Carolina Hospital CEO Spencer Thomas, “Dr. Swamy brings prestigious cardiology experience in treating a wide range of heart conditions, including all aspects of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine to Central Carolina Hospital. He is an excellent addition to our medical staff and cardiology program.”

Dr. Swamy graduated from medical school from the University of Chicago-Pritzker in Chicago, and received his undergrad degree at Duke University. A specialist in cardiology, coronary intervention, echocardiography, arterial and venous ultrasound, vascular medicine, peripheral vascular intervention, stress testing, cardiac rhythm evaluation and management, Dr. Swamy’s previous employment includes an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at New York University Medical Center and a Cardiology Fellowship and Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago Medical Center.
