CCH Honors Emma McLean Gilmore As LifePoint Mercy Award Recipient

Sanford’s Central Carolina Hospital has announced the winner of its prestigious LifePoint Mercy Award for its employees, and the 2017 honoree is 20 year CCH Social Worker Emma McLean Gilmore. The annual Mercy Award recognizes an employee who consistently touches the lives of others and represents the values of the hospital. The Mercy Award is considered the highest honor a LifePoint Health employee can receive.

Central Carolina CEO John Maxwell notes, “We are extremely proud to recognize Emma McLean Gilmore for her efforts on behalf of our patients and our community. She goes above and beyond each and every day to ensure that every person she encounters receives the highest level of care and compassion.”

Ms. Gilmore has a long-standing history of empathy and exceptional service in helping her patients. Widely admired by her colleagues at Central Carolina Hospital, Ms. Gilmore provides guidance, wisdom and compassion to the patients she serves on a daily basis. Ms. Gilmore is also active in the Sanford community, at St. Mark’s United Church of God, and with foster parenting, involvement with area group homes, nursing homes and psychiatric units, and advocating on issues involving homelessness and indigent medical care.
