Caroline Phillips – Tramway Elementary School

Our Welcome To Sanford Lee County Teacher of the Week is Caroline Phillips, an exceptional children teacher at Tramway Elementary School where she was recognized as the school’s Teacher of the Year for 2017-18. She has been a Tigershark for four years and holds a dual degree in both Early Childhood Education and Special Education from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania.

Mrs. Phillips feels that all children, regardless of ability, are capable of learning, and carry special gifts inside of them, waiting to be discovered. “As a special educator, I strive not only to meet my students at their individual levels, but to prepare them to be functional, independent productive members of society.

It is clear that Mrs. Phillips has built a strong relationship with each student that walks through her classroom door. While she is willing to do whatever it takes to meet the needs of her students, she stops at nothing until she has found a way to challenge each student to meet their full potential. Her students would say they feel loved and safe in her classroom, and many have soared socially this year from the support Mrs. Phillips has given them.
