Calling All Craft Lovers

This weekend is one for the craft lovers! Several crafting events are taking place at some local businesses here in Sanford.

Chalky South Studio is hosting their 3rd annual Valentines for Soldiers Event this Saturday, January 12th. In this special workshop participants will be making Valentine Care packages for soldiers. Bring your kids to make cards and donate items to fill boxes for a group of soldiers. Some of these goodies might include gum, stamps, beef jerky, Goldfish crackers, Oreo’s, notecards/postcards, candy (not chocolate), deck of cards, or small puzzles. These packages will be shipped overseas in hopes to make it time for Valentine’s day. The goal is to bring a smile to those who are not able to be with their loved ones on Valentine’s Day. There will also be Chalky Painting Projects for kids to complete (starting at $10). Shipping donations are also appreciated. The event will take place 10am-12pm.

To keep the crafting going, Karma Boutique & Coffee Bar is hosting Coffee & Crafting this Saturday (January 12th) from 12pm-3pm. If you have sewing, knitting, crocheting, rhinestoning, calligraphy or any kind of crafting to do, bring it to Karma! You can work on your own crafts, grab a coffee, and chat with fellow crafty people. If you are there to work on handmade goods they will enter your name into a drawing for two diamond painting kits.

If crafting isn’t your thing, don’t worry there are plenty more fun events taking place this month so check back next week.
