Artist of the Week – Gael Hogan

Our latest Welcome To Sanford Artist of the Week is a true artist and renaissance woman … Gael Hogan.

Gale is a native of southeastern Pennsylvania and a long-standing resident of Sanford, whose passions, pursuits and professional activities involve artwork and much more. Gael is on the board of directors for the Sanford Brush & Palette Club, where she has also served in many leadership roles in recent years. Her upbeat, positive personality is known and appreciated by many in the local arts community and those that Gael comes in contact with.

As an artist, Gael is best known for her work in finger painting and her frequent use of flowers as subject matters. After getting started with finger paints, Gael has evolved to other disciplines, including brushwork and 3D art.  Gael’s works have received numerous recognitions in the Brush & Palette Club’s Annual Art Show. Here we see 3 images of Gael’s work that have all received at awards at shows in the past few years.  In 2018 Gael was also the recipient of the Preserving Our Traditions award from the Lee County Arts Council.

Christian faith is a defining part of Gael’s life and is manifested in activities that go far beyond her artwork.

Gael has served as a teacher, speaker, chaplain and counselor and has published a book called Would You Do It For Me? The book explores the importance of having faith, and living faith honestly in good times and bad.

Gael also has an online blog called Fingerprints that shares insights and inspirations. You can see more of Gael’s artwork and learn more about her book, speaking engagements and related activities by visiting her Fingerprints website.
