Amy Davis – East Lee Middle School

Our latest Welcome to Sanford Teacher of the Week is Amy Davis, from East Lee Middle School.  Mrs. Davis teaches 7th Grade ELA and also serves as the Lead Contact Teacher for East Lee’s AIG (Academically & Intellectually Gifted) program.  She has a degree in Middle School Education, English and Social Studies, and is certified for Grades 6-8 ELA and Social Studies, and for Grades 9-12 English and History.

The ELA course provides students with a diverse range of experiences.  In the course of the school year, they come to understand how the past, present and future are interconnected; learn to respect cultural diversity; and meet the challenges of the world of work. Students demonstrate an understanding of reading, writing, speaking and language to comprehend literature including stories, dramas, novels and poems.

Mrs. Davis is enthusiastic about the present school year, commenting “I have been on a two teacher team teaching both ELA and Social Studies. I have enjoyed teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grade and am looking forward to teaching and creating bonds with the community.”
