Amanda Faughnan — Lee County High School

Our Welcome To Sanford Lee County Teacher of the Week is Ms. Amanda Faughnan of Lee County High School. Ms. Faughnan has been a history/social studies teacher for 2.5 years, all of which have been at LCHS. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social studies for grades 7-12 from the State University of New York – New Paltz.

When she’s not teaching American History I, American History II and Civics & Economics at LCHS, Ms. Faughnan is also a literacy leader and on the AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) Site Team.

While Ms. Faughnan’s teaching philosophy is short and sweet, it is something that individuals of all ages can benefit from: “never stop learning!”

Among Ms. Faughnan’s most memorable professional experiences are the opportunity to attend the International Society for Technology in Education in San Antonio, and the AVID Conference in Philadelphia.  Ms. Faughnan gained information and access to valuable resources that she is able to share with her students every day.

Colleagues of Ms. Faughnan love how organized, creative, motivated, passionate, innovative and how dedicated she is to AVID. We share our congratulations as well to Ms. Faughnan for this recognition.
