A Weekend Of Story And Song

Another weekend in Sanford, another opportunity to hear some great music! Today we’ll be highlighting two artists from very different musical backgrounds who are performing this weekend in Sanford.

Jason Petty’s Every Song A Story, a tribute to the country, pop, and folk songs that aim to tell a story, opened last night at the Temple Theater. Jason and his 4-piece band will recreate songs such Charlie Daniels’ “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” and Jim Croce’s “Bad Bad Leroy Brown” and share the stories behind their creation, recording, and release.

The show will run through February 23, with shows at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm today, Friday, February 7. There will also be a show tomorrow, February 8 at 7:30 pm and one at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 9 plus a special sensory friendly performance on Saturday, February 15 at 2:00 pm sponsored by the Stevens Center.
