As August comes to a close, the North Carolina Summer heat continues. Today for Welcome to Sanford Business of the Week we’re taking a look at some businesses to check out before the leaves start to change and the temperature cools in September.
Sanford is lucky to have multiple great places to get fresh ice cream. Earlier this year, we covered The Fairview Dairy Bar. The Fairview Dairy Bar continues to serve 16 flavors of ice cream as well sundaes, pies and other sweet treats. Take a look at their menu to see the full selection, or call them at 919-775-5721.
Yarborough’s Homemade Ice Cream also offers a variety of fresh flavors to choose from. After the Yarborough Family sold the Fairview Dairy Bar, the decided to rebrand the Fairview Dairy Bar Restaurant as Yarborough’s Homemade Ice Cream and Grill in 1976. Yarborough’s can be found at 132 McIver St. in downtown Sanford and is typically open 8:00 AM – 9:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM on Sundays. Make sure to call their number 919-776-6266 before you visit to make sure they’re open!
Finally, the Sanford Farmers’ Market is about to transition into their lineup of Fall Crops. The Sanford Farmers’ Market, is open from 8:00 AM through Noon every Saturday through November. Visit the Farmers’ Market downtown by parking behind the Buggy Building on 115 Chatham Street and find the last of Summer produce such as tomatoes as well as the first pumpkins of the year!
