On January 29th, United Way of Lee County will be hosting Compassion ’19: Beyond ACEs–Building Awareness and Resilience in Lee County. This event will be a free community roundtable that will focus on Adverse Childhood Experiences and how to build resilience to mitigate the effects.
United Way’s Compassion community roundtable will combine service providers, community leaders, and other stakeholders. This group will address the issues surrounding ACEs that are affecting Lee County. The event will feature a screening of the Resilience documentary, a documentary on the new movement among therapists and educators to disrupt cycles of violence, addiction and disease. After the screening there will be a panel discussion and community cafe lunch. The lunch will begin the conversation about what Lee County can do as a community to address the issues and challenges of ACEs.
The event will begin at 9:00am and go until 1:30pm. The location will be the McSwain Center (2420 Tramway Road Sanford, NC 27332). There is no charge to attend but you must pre register following this link. Please help spread the word by sharing with your friends of the community.
