It began last year to celebrate the completion of downtown Sanford streetscape upgrades. Now, back again and even bigger, it’s the first big outdoor community celebration of the year … the 2nd Annual Downtown Streetfest & Fireworks, on Saturday April 14.
The heart of downtown Sanford — on Steele, Wicker, Moore and Carthage Streets — is where all the family fun will take place, from noon to 9pm. Event highlights include a free concert by legendary national recording artists Southern Culture on the Skids at the main stage in Depot Park at 6:45. The big day will also include other live acts, a street fair and kids fun zone, plenty of community performers & demonstrations, food trucks, craft beer trucks and so much more. The Kettle Krush 5k run, organized by the Salvation Army, kicks off at 8am. Local merchants open their downtown shops at 10am.
And of course, the fireworks grand finale, beginning at 8:45!
This partnership of Downtown Sanford Incorporated and the City of Sanford includes 11 downtown restaurants, 12 food trucks and 5 participating breweries. ICE Industrial Construction Experts is the lead sponsor for this year’s event, along with Adcock & Associates Real Estate & Auction, Cricket Wireless and over a dozen other participants.
