Sanford pediatric therapy practice Theraplay has announced the addition of Amanda Schmitz, MS, CCC-SLP to its pediatric therapy team of professionals. An experienced Speech Language Pathologist with a specialization in pediatric therapy, Schmitz is also a bilingual therapist. She provides speech therapy services in Spanish and English, and loves working with bilingual children.
Theraplay Owner Jeanine Morton is very pleased with Schmitz’s addition to the organization, noting “Amanda is an amazing person. She is a perfect fit here at Theraplay and has a genuine passion for serving kids and helping them achieve their fullest potential.
“Equally important, Amanda’s addition to our organization allows Theraplay to serve our bilingual and primary-Spanish language population. We know these families often find it difficult to get the services their children need, in an embracing and nurturing environment. When a skilled and engaged therapist like Amanda is able to converse with children and family members in their native language, it dramatically improves the progress and pace in which we can help our kids. Amanda’s involvement will make life-changing differences for her children and their families.”
A Minnesota native, Schmitz has a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language & Hearing Association.
