Central Carolina Hospital (sponsor of our Wellness Wednesday feature) will be hosting its 4th annual Healthy Heart Fair on Valentine’s morning, from 7-10am. The event has become an important part of the community’s emphasis on wellness, filled with a variety of activities and educational opportunities.
In addition to being “the most romantic day of the day,” Valentine’s Day is in the “heart” of American Heart Month, so its the ideal time to help local residents become more knowledgeable about healthy heart care, and to learn first hand about how to manage their specific health. There will be over a dozen events taking place at the hospital, including demos for CPR and healthy cooking, free lipid and glucose screening, and panels and Q&A opportunities with several health care providers, including dietitians, pharmacists and several representatives from Central Carolina Physician Practices.
Throughout American Heart Month, we’ll set aside time to focus on key aspects of a healthy heart lifestyle, including a healthy diet, a physically active way of life, and becoming knowledgeable about the warning signs for heart attacks and strokes.
