Sanford’s popular and long-standing Golf Club at Quail Ridge is open for business and attracting plenty of old fans and new converts. The course was designed by Ellis Maples and opened in 1967. In addition to celebrating 50 years of community service in 2017, the club came under new management around the first of the year. It’s detailed renovation of course and club house complete; the club reopened to the public in October.
The course now boasts new Champion Bermuda Greens, new TifTuf Bermuda Fairways, new sand in the bunkers, and the ever-present rolling hills that bring enjoyment and challenge to the course. Additionally, the new management team has added new sod around all the greens and bunkers, new rough in the natural Sandhills terrain, and has cleared over 150 trees, to dramatically improving the golfing experience.
The par 72, 18-hole course has a course rating of 72.8. With 4 tees to shoot from, the course length can range from 5,267 to 6,875 yards. The club’s Clubhouse Grill is also now open for breakfast and lunch.
