Jan Phillips Named Central Carolina Hospital Chief Nursing Officer

Central Carolina Hospital has named experienced healthcare and nursing manager Jan Phillips, DNP, RN, CENP, to the position of Chief Nursing Officer. Phillips comes to CCH from a Director of Nursing for Adult Acute Care & Emergency Nursing position at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, in Hershey, PA.

Phillips has over 36 years’ experience as a registered nurse. Prior to her most recent role, she was the Director of Surgical Inpatient/Emergency Nursing/Nursing Vascular Access Team/Care Coordination, as well as Director of Clinical Quality at the medical center in Hershey.  She has a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Old Dominion University, as well as a Master of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Virginia. Phillips has a Nurse Manager Fellowship from the American Organization of Nurse Executive (AONE) and is a member of the Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders (PONL).

Central Carolina Hospital Interim Chief Executive Officer Spencer Thomas notes, “We are excited to have Jan join our leadership team. She has an impressive background in healthcare leadership. Her experience managing clinical teams and her background in a variety of clinical specialties will be a great asset to our hospital and community. We are confident Jan will contribute to our continued efforts to making communities healthier.”

Phillips assumed her new role at Sanford’s Central Carolina Hospital on November 27.
